Lunch Making Drawer for School Lunches

Brodie is starting school this year and Joel will be starting kinder as well. I started thinking about the lunch/snack making process. I wanted the lunch boxes, containers & cutlery all in the one drawer and close to the part of the bench where I will be making the lunches. After some re-organising I managed to get a empty drawer YAY!!

Here is my lunch making drawer. The only downside is I can't fit the cooler bags in there but I think I can live with that.

Lunch Making Drawer

For you Chrissy - I am unsure whether Tupperware contains BPA but Rubbermaid Lunchblox is BPA free

Do you have a drawer or cupboard dedicated for lunch making? Or do you have any tips?

  1. Don't have one yet, but it's on the list to do.
The bottom drawer in my kitchen is a nice size. Until now it's housed the plastic stuff the kids could play with.
Well they are a bit older now and don't need to play with that stuff, so that's where it's all going to go.

    2. Tupperware is all BPA free. I am a sales rep. It is on the website also.

  4. My lunch drawer doesn't look anywhere near as beautifully organized as that! (could have something to do with my five young helpers) Those sandwich keepers also stack nicely opened up and nested one on top of the other - probably won't give you enough extra space for the bags, but it's a start! :)

  6. Great idea, looks lovely. I have a large lunch cane basket but a draw would be a lot nicerand tidier.

    1. Thanks Rebecca....I do love my drawers but I also think anything that can get them contained is a great idea :)

  7. I wish I could have a drawer like that. The problem I have is getting the kids to bring all the pieces home. I have heaps of lids with no bottoms etc

    1. I hope that doesn't happen here :) Bringing them home from kinder hasn't been a issue so far....but Brodie starting school this year might be a different story!

  8. I know this is an older post, but I happened to stumble across it today on Pinterest! I noticed one of your captions read that you weren't sure whether Tupperware contained BPA. I am happy to tell you that all Tupperware products are BPA free, and manufactured to European food safety standards, which are much stricter than US standards.

By the way, I so wish I had a deep drawer to organize like that! When I get to remodel my kitchen, I plan replacing many of the lower cupboards with deep drawers. I think they will be so much easier to get into and find things without getting on the floor and digging to the back!
