Fridge & Freezer Organisation

Here is the link for my new updated organised freezer.

The fridge & freezer had no organisation and looked like a mess most of the time. As many of you know I love containers and baskets. I measured the fridge and freezer shelves (this is a must nothing more annoying coming home and the containers or baskets you bought won't fit the space. I went to another one of my fav shops Howards Storage World. I bought baskets with handles for the fridge and tall narrow containers for the freezer.

FRIDGE

Fridge

1st Shelf

The first basket holds margarine, cream and the second basket holds all the kids yoghurt.

2nd Shelf

This shelf holds water, beetroot, kids water bottles, left overs and anything else. This water container holds 5.5 litres the little jug we had just didn't last with filling 3 kids water bottles I was filling it up constantly this is a god send. I haven't taken a photo but just underneath there is a pull out drawer where I keep sandwich meats and cheese.

3rd Shelf

When we buy watermelon and cantelope we find it much easier to cut it all up and store in these tupperware containers. They keep for longer and it actually gets eaten. The other basket holds our yoghurt and there are some spare eggs.

4th Shelf

This shelf holds kids primas (juice) and more cut up fruit and veg.

Fridge Door

Top shelf - Eggs
2nd Shelf - Condiments e.g. garlic, mustard
3rd Shelf - Sauces and milk container for coffee machine
4th Shelf - Milk and Juice
5th Shelf - Sorry you can't see it but at the moment it is empty but we get milk delivered tomorrow so that will be full of milk tomorrow. We go through 14 litres of milk a week...I know its a lot of milk I still can't believe it myself.

FREEZER

Here is the freezer I used containers that I bought from Howards Storage World and containers I had bought from Ikea awhile ago.

Freezer

1st Shelf

All boxed frozen goods

2nd Shelf

These containers hold chips, nuggets and potato gems.

3rd Shelf

The container holds grated tasty cheese, grated mozzorella, parmesan cheese and ice cream.

4th Shelf

This container holds all the frozen vegetables and on the side of the container is puff pastry. Great tip for sealing the bags once they are open is these.

Freezer Door

Top shelf - Fozen Herb & Spice pastes, ice packs for kids lunch boxes
2nd Shelf -  Muffins, crumpets and bacon
3rd Shelf - Kids Icy poles and gelati icecream
4th Shelf - Bread and chicken tenders for the kids
5th Sheld - Lasagne Sheets

How do you organise your fridge and freezer?

Organising The Kids Cupboards Part 3

Welcome to Part 3 and the final post of reorganising the kids cupboards. Here are the links to the previous posts of organising the kids cupboards if you have not seen them Part 1, Part 2

Here is the floor of the cupboard before.

Cupboard Floor Before

This is a mess. The basket had shoes that he will grow into but as you can see that wasn't the best place to put them he loved to pull them all out. Walkers that he rarely uses anymore. Plastic tub has sippy cups, bottles. The rest is just stuff.

We packed up the walkers and put them in the roof space of the garage.

Cupboard Floor After

The next thing I did was go through the clothes in the cupboard and in the bags (see top shelf). I knew there was lots that were too small and bigger sizes that could go in there.

Clothes Before

Donate Pile including Dirty Clothes Basket. Nappy box full of clothes

Clothes to go to my Sister in Lawfor her baby boy

Too small pile & don't wear pile

Clothes After

The next step was to go through the shelves

Shelves Before

If you are following my blog you will know that this whole kids cupboard reorganisation started because storing the kids clothes in those huge stripey bags (see top shelf) was just not working. So my solution was to store the kids clothes in plastic containers.

This shelf stored cushions, jars, vases and large glasses that I used for for his 1st birthday party I had a huge lolly table...maybe I should do a post on that as well, portacot, empty basket and a bunnykins dinnerware set.

I had a spare smaller plastic tub which I used to put shoes that he will grow into. I also reused the 2 baskets one for socks that he will grow into and the other for spare coat hangers.

Shelves After - Portacot was borrowed by a friend

I hope that you enjoyed this post and it inspires you to go through your kids cupboards.

Kitchen Cupboards & Drawers Finished

I have been particpating in OrgJunkies 29 Day Challenge and I have finally finished the kitchen. Whenever I open a drawer or a cupboard now I must say I am quite chuffed with how everything is looking.

Utensil Drawer Before

The cutlery drawer was next. The only items purged were baby spoons and scissors.

Cutlery Drawer before

That's disgusting..You put clean cutlery in there so how does this happen?

Cutlery Drawer After

It's been a long time since I have gone through the cupboard under the sink and I knew there would be cleaning chemicals in there I haven't used or do not need for that matter.

Under The Sink Before

Purged Cleaning Products
Did you know Cloudy Ammonia has a expiry date? I didn't

Expired Cloudy Ammonia that's nearly 8 years past the expiry

Seriously how many carpet cleaners do I need! Obviously lots

Relocate Pile for bathroom vanity

I am planning on going through our bathroom vanity soon. My plan is to move the cleaning products into the bathroom vanity. It will save me time and when the kids are in the bath I have the cleaning products there so I can clean the bathroom while they are having a bath.

I think I have a thing for plug in air fresheners

I have purged all of them expect 4.

My sponge/scourer etc container before

Ahh much better

I love Labelled Containers

Love having my everyday cleaning items in this container with a handle.
It keeps them all together and neat

Under the sink after

Dinnerware drawer - Too Crowded

I can now have my dinnerware over 2 drawers. I have also been able put all my saucepans in 1 drawer.

All my saucepans are now in the 1 drawer instead of 2. I had a spare container from
my laundry overhaul which I have used to hold the saucepan lids.

Thanks to Laura for organising the challenge and thank you to everyone who participated in the 29 day challenge.

Organising Kids Puzzles

Do you seem to be always missing a piece of a puzzle? The puzzle boxes take up too much room or the box gets wrecked?

I saw my sister in law (Thanks Jac) do this many years ago and I thought what a fantastic idea. I will do that when we have lots of puzzles. She stored the puzzle pieces in zip lock bags.

All of our puzzles are kept in this basket in our expedit book case in the playroom

Puzzles in zip lock bags

Picture of puzzle with the pieces

I cut out the picture from the puzzle box and put that in with the puzzle pieces. Then the kids can look at the picture when they are doing the puzzle.

I hope this idea helps you to organise your kids puzzles.

Organising The Kids Cupboard Part 2

If you have been following my blog you will know I am in the process of going through the kids cupboards. It has turned out to be a huge job but I must say well worth it.

I had already gone through all the older 2 clothes See this post it was about going through the other items in the cupboard. The next cupboard to do was for my middle boy. His cupboard is in the playroom (the oldest 2 share a room so we can have a playroom). The trofast holds all the arts and crafts and can become a dumping ground.

Cupboard before
What a mess!

After

Labelled Drawers & Shelves

I also labelled the shelves and drawers where his clothes are. I do this so when they are able able to read they know where there clothes are and for my husband so he knows where everything is.

1st shelf - Pants
2nd Shelf - Trackies
3rd Shelf - Shorts

1st Drawer - Socks & Jocks
2nd Drawer - Winter PJ's
3rd Drawer - Summer Pj's
4th Drawer - Boardies & Rashies

That looks much better than the stripey bags!

All clothes grouped together
tshirts, long sleeved tops, jumpers - makes finding clothes much easier

Everything put away looks much more organised

2 down 1 more to go will post the last one soon.
